The memorial complex "the national Museum of the great Patriotic war" was renamed to the execution of the laws of decommunization.
The corresponding order was signed by Vice Prime Minister - Minister of culture of Ukraine Vyacheslav Kirilenko, according to a Government portal.
"Memorial complex "the national Museum of the great Patriotic war" was renamed "Museum of history of Ukraine during world war II. The memorial complex". The name change is approved by the order of Vice Prime Minister - Minister of culture Viacheslav Kyrylenko from 16 July 2015", - stated in the message.
The decision on renaming of the Museum made on the basis of decommunization laws - "to commemorate the victory over Nazism in the Second world war 1939-1945" and "About the condemnation of the Communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of propaganda of their symbolism" and laws "On assignment of legal persons and property names (aliases) of individuals, anniversary and holiday dates, names and dates of historical events", "On culture", "On museums and Museum business"; the regulations of the Ministry of culture of Ukraine.
