Trinity 2013

Orthodox and Greek Catholics of Ukraine, in 2013, will celebrate Pentecost Sunday, 23 June. The weekend will last Saturday, 22 June, on Monday, June 24.

All Orthodox churches in this day decorated with birch branches, lilac, maple - they symbolize the renovation of the soul. The Trinity is celebrated in honour of the descent of the Holy spirit on the apostles, which promised them to Christ before his Ascension up. The holiday is celebrated on the 50th day after Easter, therefore this day is also called Pentecost. Trinity has always been one of the most beautiful and long-awaited holiday of the people of Ukraine, some traditions have their roots in pre-Christian times.

In Kiev the most colorful festivities on the Trinity traditionally expected in the National Museum of folk architecture and life "Pirogovo". on June 22-23, "Зелені Holy" there will celebrate with songs performed by folk groups. As expected, the festival will begin with a procession in vyshyvankas participants and guests and traditional Liturgy in St. Nicholas Church (exposition "skirts").

Meanwhile "Castle Radomysl" in Radomyshl near Kiev offers to celebrate "Зелені Holy" with народними ceremonies of the past together with the remarkable folklore колективом "Рожаница".
