The dollar rate in Ukraine broke the record for six months
The NBU increased the rate of the American currency, but experts believe the situation will be corrected
Today, 3 November, the national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has established the following exchange rates among the major foreign currencies against the hryvnia:
USD 1 – UAH 23,01;
1 EUR 25,39 UAH;
10 Russian rubles – UAH 3,57.
Thus, the dollar compared to yesterday's values became higher by 2 pennies. The Euro rose to 6 cents. The ruble rose 3 pennies.
The last time the rate above 23 HR was recorded April 10 – LK 23: 43 UAH/USD.
Historical maximum the official rate of dollar of 30.01 UAH/USD.
Recall that in NBU assure that fluctuations in the range of 21-23 UAH – this is normal, and the current weakening is temporary.
According to the economist, President of the Center crisis research Jaroslav Zhalilo, the rate should return to around 22 USD. "Just for that, it takes some time – a week or two," – said Zhalilo. He predicts that the first week after the second round of elections on 15 November, is likely to be marked by increased pressure on the exchange rate.
Zhalilo believes that the following course will not fall. "But I don't think we can expect tangible and devaluation. ... Theoretically I do not exclude that may change the equilibrium level in the direction of a weakening of the hryvnia – say, up to 22.50".
