Klitschko: the bike will be in Kiev, the most popular form of transport

I am sure that over time we arrive at the conclusion that the bike will become the most popular form of transport in Kiev. About Kiev mayor Vitali Klitschko said in an interview to "5 channel".

 

"We see that in the city centre, large tube and by bike to move a lot faster. In many European cities people prefer the bike and say: "Why should we buy a car and then pay for fuel, Parking and the like. I am sure that we will come to what the bike will be in Kiev, the most popular form of transport," - said Klitschko.

 

The mayor noted that this is not possible without an adequate infrastructure. Therefore, the Metropolitan government plans over the next few years to open in the city 600 km of cycle tracks around Kiev. "We designed the layout of the 600 kilometers of Bicycle lanes in the city Kiev which will be realized in future years. Now consider the possibility to improve the bikeways in the city center. Until the end of the year we plan to open some more paths. One of them is from Obolon to the center of the city. I hope that soon will be open track and at the hem", - said Vitaly Klitschko.
