Ukraine celebrates national flag Day

Today, Ukraine celebrates national flag Day, therefore planned a series of events in the capital

 

At 9:00, President Petro Poroshenko will take part in the solemn ceremony of raising the national flag on Sophia square in Kyiv.

 

At 09:30, a ceremony of raising the flag of Ukraine near the building of Kyiv city Council.

 

During the day in the capital scheduled performances of artists and musicians, the exhibition of photographs of soldiers of the antiterrorist operation in the Sofia area, flash mobs and entertainment events in Kyiv, cultural events in the parks of culture and rest.

 

As reported, the Kyiv city state administration has limited traffic in Podolsky and Shevchenkovsky districts in connection with the ceremony of raising the national flag on August 23.

 

In 2004, President Leonid Kuchma issued a decree established the national flag Day of Ukraine, celebrated annually on August 23.

 

In 2009 President Viktor Yushchenko has made changes to this decree establishing an annual official flag-raising ceremony on August 23 in all Ukraine.
