Changes in annual average air temperature in Ukraine is almost twice higher than those of the world and the Northern hemisphere. As a consequence, in the country by 2050, precipitation will increase by 20%, also threatening abnormal tropical storms. This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian climate network Ilya Eremenko.
He stressed that over the past 100 years the average temperature in Ukraine increased by 2 degrees Celsius, and the rate of increase is growing.
According to him, the heat wears out faster the road surface, as applied in this mixture is not designed for very high temperature, and rails also overheat and become useless.
He also drew attention to the fact that the weather in Ukraine will change for the metamorphosis of the climate will bring an increase in precipitation, but they will fall unevenly: "that is, the number of rainy days will become less, but at the same time, often there will be days with strong thunderstorms".
"In recent years, Lutsk, Kiev, Lvov and other cities are faced with the anomalous summer rainfall, when a few hours had the monthly rainfall. In winter heavy snowfalls have been a surprise to the utilities. And by 2050 precipitation is projected to increase by 20% compared to the period from 1981 to 2010", - said the expert.
