Despite the political situation in the Ukraine the local tourist industry continues to prepare for the summer season. One of the Central events - international travel exhibition UITT 2014, as planned, will take place in Kiev at the International exhibition centre on 26-28 March.
Head of exhibitions, commercial Director of the company «Premier Expo» Irina Коршуненко reported RATA-news that almost immediately after the cessation of armed confrontation in the heart of the Ukrainian capital all the partners and participants of UITT was sent a letter confirming that the exhibition will be held. «Today there is no cause for concern about the safety of the participants. Understand your concerns and fears, but we believe that the regular and accurate messages about the process of normalization of the situation, which we will direct, will equip you with objective information about what is happening in Kiev and will help to present the real picture of the events,» the statement says.
This year for participation in UITT was planned to be 658 participants from 61 countries. However, due to the political situation his arrival in Kiev abolished several national tourism offices, including Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic. However, then, as explained MS Коршуненко, some participants wished to return. In particular, it was stated by more than half of the companies representing the Hungarian stand, also everybody is waiting for its decision to reconsider the Czechs. From Russia there is evidence from the participants of the joint booth hotels Moscow. «All of this gives us confidence that the exhibition will be held. This week we even activated advertising company UITT 2014. Also, a growing number of registered visitors. Now there are already more than 5 thousand people, even more than last year», - noted Irina Коршуненко.
Only at the time were forced to stop their work and organizers of the series of workshops «Ukraine and tourism-2014», conducting of which was planned on February Kharkov, Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk. Schedule of activities was shifted almost a month, however, the project Manager Natalia Игнатиева told that all workshops, starting from March 10, will be used in the planned mode. «Unfortunately, among our participants are almost no foreigners from workshops refused company of Spain, Portugal and also, a tour of St. Petersburg», - says Ms. Игнатиева. She also stressed that the summer season in Ukraine will be held in any case, but it is already clear that the country lost a substantial share of arrivals.
In Russia the situation with the sales of tours to Ukraine indeed, stalemate. According to tour operators, already more than a month are sold excursions Kiev and Lviv, there is no demand for skiing complex Bukovel and the treatment in Truskavets both of these are close to the resort Lviv. But most importantly, and Crimea, the demand for which is still a week ago somehow, but was, began to cause serious concern of experts. «If until recently the unrest in Kiev reflected only on the Ukrainian экскурсионке and therapeutic tours, after popular protests spread in Crimea, booking this direction is also completely stopped, and there were even a single case of cancellation of tours,» - the Deputy Director of the Moscow office of the company «Kandahar» Olga Егоркина.
According to the commercial Director of the company «Alian» Oksana Bulakh, sale Crimea decreased on average by 30% compared to last year: «the Demand is not dead, but it is minimal. Also, there are cancelled, and not only on the next date, but during the summer». However, players of the market do not exclude, that as soon as the situation in the Crimea rest part of the loss of demand will be restored. Although the upcoming summer season has definitely be worse than last year.
