In Ukraine will plant the first growing forest

 

In the Odessa region will appear first in Ukraine industrial plantation of fast-growing wood of the Paulownia tree.

The area of the new forest is 1 thousand hectares, and planted it in stages over 8 years. The volume of investments will amount to $5 million.

"The plantation will be used to produce raw materials. This will not only save the company money that it currently spends to purchase wood from the state but also preserve the country's natural resources," writes the local edition "Duma"

They're going to bring Paulownia is an ornamental tree that is distinguished by high growth rate.

Seedlings of Paulownia can be purchased in Ukraine even cottagers. The tree is hardy to -28 degrees, can proizrostaet in the area of Transcarpathia and the South. Grows to a height of 15-20 m with spreading crown and large leaves up to 20 cm in length or more. To soil is not demanding. The wood is soft and natural growing countries - China and Japan is used for making musical instruments, furniture, small crafts, cutting boards, ski and snowboards, as well as the bases of table tennis rackets.
