VII international swim across the Dnieper was held in Cherkasy. Length swim -10 km, was invited as individual swimmers and teams. The race attracted participants from Ukraine and Germany. To compete the participants came from Kharkiv, Lviv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Poltava, Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk. The distance of 10 km to independently overcome the 25 athletes, four teams participated in the relay 3 x 3300 m.
The individual winner of the race of 10 kilometers was Kharkov Anton Violin. Starting in Chapayevsk, a guy came to the finish line with a time of 2 hours 9 minutes.
Time to start the competition failed: prevented rainy weather. She has created difficulties not only for swimmers but also for judges and teams that accompanies kayaking each participant. However, Anton Violin says that the waves only helped him.
"It was not easy to overcome all the distance, but I didn't make long stops. Only once stopped to drink water, - says Anton Violin, master of sports of Ukraine. – The secret of success only in constant training, I'm 15 years old been swimming".
