Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is one of the first monasteries in Kiev Rus. It was founded in 1051 by Yaroslav the Wise. In 1786 Laura was subordinated to the Metropolitan of Kiev, Laura’s saint archimandrite.
Incorruptible relics of the saints of God can be seen in the Near and Far Caves of the Monastery, the burial of the laity can also be found in the abbey.
