The Crimea will arrive at MITT

«None of Ukrainian companies refused from participation in the exhibition, which opens in Moscow «Expocenter» on 19 March. Already precisely it is known, that will be presented to the United stand of the Crimea», - has informed yesterday at press conference the Director of the tourist exhibition MITT Sergey Gorsky. He explained that because of the complicated situation on the Peninsula is the decision of the Crimean hoteliers and tour operators did not come without hesitation. However, in the Crimea hope that the summer tourist season, which turned out to be hostages of a policy, not will fail and Russian tourists will arrive at the Peninsula.

This year, according to Mr. Gorsky, greatly expanded the composition of the international MITT. Among the newcomers immediately 14 countries and regions: Algeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cambodia, Laos, East Timor, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Peru, Iceland. For the first time the exhibition will bring regional tourist offices in Spain Balearic Islands, the Canary and Azores and the Islands of Micronesia. MITT is one of the five largest tourist exhibitions in the world, annually attracts more than 1,800 exhibitors from 85 countries, and the number of visitors exceeds 82 thousand people. This time the exhibition will be located in 9 exhibition halls with area of more than 55 thousand square meters.

A country-partner of the exhibition was Italy that is especially true in 2014, the year cross-tourism between Russia and Italy. Director of the Moscow office of the National tourism Agency Italy (ENIT) Domenico Di salvo told that the country is taking part in MITT since 1996, while the representation in ENIT Moscow was opened a year later. «During all these years, we have noted a growing interest in MITT by the Italian regions that are ready to invest in promotion in Russia», - said Mr. Di salvo.

He cited figures to explain why his country is interested in travelling with Russia. According to statistics, the flow of Russians in Italy in 2013 exceeded one million people, including tourists - 720 thousand, which is by 6% compared to the figures of 2009. For 10 months of last year, our tourists spent in Italy 960 million euros (+14%). In the framework of the exhibition the Italian side is planning a series of presentations of regions, special attention will be paid to the promotion of new routes, primarily in small towns Italy.

In addition, at MITT first appeared region-partner, they became Altai Krai. According to the Director of the Tourist center Altai Krai Tatiana Сажаева, for nine months of the year 2013 the region was visited by over 1.6 million people. «We believe that our region is worthy of greater attention,» said MS Saraeva, adding that Playground MITT will help the region to actively promote their activities. The first day of the exhibition, March 19, will be the day Altai Krai. Guests will find a presentation of the region, a raffle and tasting of Altai delicacies.

The separate exposition will present at MITT and the city Sochi not so long ago has hosted the winter Olympics.

Topical issue of the exhibition-2014 selected growing competitiveness of the travel industry and independent online orders. How to benefit from this situation, will be discussed at a business summit, co-organizer of which is a Russian Union of tourism industry. At a press conference on the outline of the discussion about «competition» travel industry and individual bookings outlined the press Secretary of the PCT Irina Tyurina, General Director of company «Art-Tour» Dmitry Arutyunov. «Indeed, there are many tourists, who prefer to organize their vacations early. However this trend is mainly in cases of short trips in Europe or Vice versa - long «tourist trips in Thailand on Goa etc.», - said Mr. Arutyunov. However, in his opinion, «the savages» they fell on difficult routes with visiting of several countries, or in exotic destinations. As well as mass beach destinations, such as Turkey and Egypt because the cost of the finished package tour to tour operators is significantly cheaper than in the self-organization of the tour.

Thus, the experts concluded that the self-tourism, though, and creates a threat to the traditional model of the tourist market, but for professionals that offer quality, and most importantly an exclusive product, this «beast» is not terrible.
