16 Jul
The first day of the festival will be headed by British metalcore act Bring Me the Horizon. These guys surely went to confession since our founding in 2004, becoming one of the headliners metalcore scene of the 2010's. Heavy and powerful sound, inherited from the pioneers of metalcore, the band has diluted elements of melodic hardcore, alternative, electronic and post-rock. And own unique style has defined emotional lyrics and energetic sound. Their albums thunder so that from year to year are the nomination of all kinds of music awards. And the newest among them, "amo", will be presented as part of the UPark Festival!
Along with Bring Me The Horizon scene UPark Festival on the first day will be to divide the British indie rockers Nothing But Thieves and the dark horse of the festival SWMRS.
Three years ago, during the UPark Festival 2016 hosted the first performance rockers Nothing But Thieves. Since the British indie-rockers managed to catch the fancy of the Ukrainian public and even shoot in Kiev clip. In recent years guys have skated tours with Arcade Fire, Awolnation and Muse, they released two albums and signed a contract with American label RCA Records. Tickets for their concerts fly in a few days, and rumors about a new release just warmed up interest to the forthcoming live at UPark Festival.
As for the SWMRS, the first time these guys showed up in Oakland (California) in the mid 2000's. Then they called themselves Emily's Army and even managed to produce under this name several Studio albums and an EP. Subsequently, the group changed its name to the more sonorous SWMRS and immersed himself first in pop-punk with a touch of raw sounds in the spirit of Green Day and then to the surf-rock sound. But even despite his punk religion SWMRS well-versed in popular culture. And their love for Disney and Miley Cyrus is reflected in yet another hooligan videos and hits.
At this stage the group has two full-length release, one of which took place only this winter, but even this is enough to predict the explosive live at the festival UPark.
17 Jul
The focus of the second day of the festival of the legendary Thirty Seconds to Mars. The group's tour in support of the album This Is War is noted in the Guinness Book of records as the longest in history, and countries where not heard their songs, you can enumerate on the fingers, because they sound, even in space, where they took the Falcon 9. Over time, Thirty Seconds to Mars gave five hit records and received more than a hundred different music awards. Their latest release, America (2018) soared to the second level of the American album chart Billboard 200. The group is constantly evolyutsioniruet and confidently combines innovative sound with that huge stadium choruses.
The second day of the festival will be also marked by the performances of the hit-maker Rag'n'bone Man, a talented new York city DIY band AJR and awarded the prestigious NME for the rapid start of a career Pale Waves.
Best young actor under the version of the Brit Awards, Rag'n'bone Man. You've probably heard his hit Human from the same album. The video for this track has collected more than half a million views on YouTube and brought the musician to the big leagues.
Today the Rag'n'bone Man first positions of the charts, three Studio albums, Gorillaz and collaborations with Calvin Harris and figurine from the Critics' Choice Award. Ahead of the first performance in Ukraine in the framework of UPark Festival!
Their music is akin to the sound of Weezer or the Beach Boys — easy soundtrack city summer day you can hear the echoes of far-fetched problems of modern society. Who is we? AJR — the new York indie-pop group consisting of three brothers multi -: Adam, Jack and Ryan (connect the first letters of each of the names will uncover the essence of the name of the group). This is one of the few and maybe the only DIY-the team that manages to create, write and produce songs in the living room of his apartment in Chelsea. And, I should say, they do it at the highest level.
The winners of the eponymous award in the category of the NME Under the Radar — Pale Waves — another musical discovery that awaits you this summer in the framework of the UPark Festival.
These guys met while studying at the University of Manchester and there's also amassed his own band.
Issued only two singles, Pale Waves appeared on the cover of NME, and later in 2018 became the owners of their award NME Under the Radar. Their debut Studio album, My Mind Makes Noises, was released in September of this year and has already reached 8 on the UK charts.
Music Pale Waves, you can find references to the works of The Cure, The Cranberries, and even Prince. Yes, they do not hide. Their songs are melodies that you can hum at any time and in any place, but in which there is something that has the power to break your heart.
18 Jul
Headlining the final day of the festival will be the stars of South African hip-hop and one of the most challenging commands of the present Die Antwoord. People from Cape town, Tudor Jones (Ninja) and yolandi Visser (¥o-landi Vi$$er) immediately created a furor on the Internet as soon as they release debut viral video "Enter the Ninja". Famous in the late 2000s, Die Antwoord forced the world to pay attention to South Africa, especially on the counter-culture movement Zef, which served as the inspiration for the band. On account of the group's four full-length albums and dozens of provocative videos, some of which are not found even in the vastness of YouTube. Their past performance broke the Kiev audience, and gave a crystal clear understanding of what a real violent rave. Contrary to fears that the first concert will be only the band's return to Ukraine was imminent. And this summer, they throw back the impudent challenge to the Ukrainian public.
But before Die Antwoord defeated UPark Festival, the stage will experience singer MØ, electronics MISSIO altogether are here for a session of music therapy, and local support, the festival will provide Ivan Dorn.
MØ has already been in Kiev, but never before with live. The Danish singer, who conquered the world charts, as well as our native troieschyna, removing there post-apocalyptic video did not discuss only the lazy. She collaborated with Diplo, Major Lazer, Iggy Azalea and collected with his hit "Lean On" more than two billion views on YouTube.
First songs American electronic Duo MISSIO was made in Austin, Texas. It was here he met the founding members vocalist Matthew Brue and instrumentalist David Butler. The mission of the musicians immediately put the salvation of people through music. Their music is Symphony analog synths, glitchy beats and soulful lyrics. In just two years, the group managed to subscribe to the music label RCA Records and releasing two full-length albums — "Loner" (2017) and "The Darker the Weather The Better the Man" (2019).
The actor, who once turned the head of a Ukrainian music, Ivan Dorn, will perform at the festival UPark July 18, along with Die Antwoord, Missio and MØ.
Creative freedom on the verge of licentiousness did not prevent Ivan to become a big pop star. His album Co'n'dorn — perhaps the most important album in Ukrainian pop culture and the latest release of the OTD achieved success even on the global music market. Last year Ivan Dorn recorded so many new singles that they could be collected in a new album. In 2018, he released collaborations with Diplo, MØ, Vakula, Moldanazar and Victor Solf from Her group. Currently, the musician on the European tour and speech at UPark Festival will be a rare meeting of the Ukrainian hero pop new wave.
