Monday, 20 April at the National Museum storey opened the exhibition"treasures of the earth Chernobyl" the exhibition presents materials of the XI-XVII centuries from the excavations Chronicles of Chernobyl, who conducted a 20-kilometer exclusion zone 2004-2014. This is more than 466 variety of original products from the State scientific centre for the protection of cultural heritage from man-made disasters of DASV (State administration of the exclusion zone) of Ukraine, which fagius exhibit for the first time.
The settlement Chernobyl opened in 2003, scientists archaeological expedition of Institute of archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine under the direction of Valery Manko. In 2004, archaeologists of the State scientific centre for the protection of cultural heritage from man-made disasters began archaeological excavations there (head - senior researcher Sergey Pereverzev).
 
 
Only during the research, the archaeologists found 45 archaeological sites, found about 20 thousand artifacts. Excavations have shown that the Chernobyl hillfort continuously existed since the end of the tenth century to the present day. Thus, the history of the town of Chernobyl deepens by at least 200 years from its first mentioned in the Hypatian chronicle.
