On the beaches of Hydropark out the first rescue patrol, consisting of eight Ukrainians volunteers. To create such a group "Baywatch" Kiev decided in KP "Pleso" after numerous complaints of most vacationers who complained that the beaches are sorely lacking rescuers. To meet new beach patrol and to find out how they're going to save people, on Saturday morning we went to the Park, where on a remote beach on the Dovbychka" recruits were undergoing preparatory training.
A TRAINING SWIM. When we moored to the shore, future rescuers just handed out a new form. It is bright red: shorts, t-shirts with white lettering "Beach patrol" and caps. The age of volunteers is impressive: there are three young boys and an elderly man. Complements the men's team is a young girl named Marina: she immediately recognizes that signed up to volunteer in secret from the family. "I have a degree in merchandise. But why not try and rescue people?" says, smiling, Marina.
The first task for lifeguards — swim 150 meters. "I need to see ispolatov people. Because duty tomorrow at three beaches — "Child", "the Venetian" and "Central". On duty will be two-person, four hours. The main thing — to follow the tourists (so they don't swim for the buoys, went for a swim in a drunken state) and keep track of the kids (so they did not climb into the water). And, of course, to save people, if someone was going to sink and to provide first medical aid", — said the head of the rescue team and future new police patrol Artem Gal. The guy is a native of Odessa and the work of the beach patrol knows firsthand. "Four months I worked in USA as a lifeguard on the beach. But many of the skills I acquired at that we don't need — for example, how to provide first aid for the bite of a shark or jellyfish. Fortunately, during my work there were no such cases, but three drowning people I saved. I remember how my eyes went under water girl: I started to dive after her, but in muddy water could not detect. But then, in a final attempt and on its last legs, I grasped her hand and raised from the bottom," recalls Gal.
SALVATION DOLLS. After the swim volunteers in turn taught to save a drowning man — the doll-dummy, which is attached under water to 7 metres from the shore. "You need to quickly swim to the drowning person and a loop to fasten it around your chest, special rescue tube (flat roller length 50 cm). This will allow a drowning man not to slip into the water," says Artem. Rescue doll given to recruits is not easy: the dummy and then slip out of the hands of the volunteers and treacherous goes to the bottom. After a workout, tired recruits transferred by motor boat to the premises of the clinic: there awaits them a lesson on rendering of the first medical aid. Artem recognizes that day and train only, "Many after the first shift will be eliminated immediately. So you need to be prepared that the following weekend will have to train a new group of applicants. But the main thing is to start" — sums Gal.

As told "Today" the Director of KP "Pleso" Denis Pikalov, beach patrol in the future may become an integral part of the city's beaches. After all, every weekend on the beaches in the Park receives thousands of tourists, and the biggest problem is the lack of lifeguards. And this problem becomes serious because, according to the state emergency service of Kyiv since the start of the bathing season in Kiev drowned 8 people (last year — 5 people). "In the future we plan to connect to the project beach patrol investors to financially encourage patrol and to develop additional form," explains Pikalov.
This week on the rescue rigs will install the sunshades. But in the future we plan to provide volunteers with equipment for rescue and walkie-talkies, which they could contact the point of medical aid.

Choose recruits unanimously recognized that decided to join the new beach patrol with a single purpose: to help people. "I and two of my friends came from the civilian corps of the battalion "Azov". While we are not at war, because we are not 18 years, but are active in sports. I, for example, already master of sports in Horting is such Ukrainian martial art. So I decided with the guys that can use their good physical condition for the benefit of people. Yes, and their peers to show that the need to spend time not with a bottle of beer in hand," says the volunteer by the name of Alexander. "And I, unlike children, though the oldest, but I feel that there is still powder in the flasks," says a retired lifeguard Vladimir Kirienko. According to him, the announcement of the recruitment of volunteers he saw on the Internet — and immediately filed his application. "Bored to sit at home! At my age, exercise is possible only at the cottage, the garden perekapyvaya. But then, I think I could be more good," proudly admits "Today" Vladimir Nikolaevich.
