For two hares

Each of us since the childhood know the exact Ukrainian proverb: run After two hares - not one catch! The outstanding Ukrainian writer, poet, playwright Mykhailo Starytsky already in the 19th century wrote the famous play «For two hares», that is actual and today and still enjoys great popularity. Almost every Ukrainian theater has in his repertoire own interpretation of this immortal Ukrainian classics. And a feature film «After two hares», filmed on the play of the Staritskogo in 1961, several times seen already not one generation of spectators.

Stage life «hares» began on November 4, 1883 in Kiev. However, on the posters wrote another name - «Barskaya lip, and no teeth». And only in brackets added: «For two hares».

 

Probably, not all is known, and the fact that the authors of «hares» as many as two: Mikhail Petrovich and Ivan Nechuy-Levitsky. Play Michael Staritsky is actually the processing of written back in 1875, «middle-class Comedy» Нечуя - Levytsky «On Кожемяках». In his time the play Нечуя-Levytsky was not a success. By agreement between the authors, Starytsky redid the work in his own way. Staritsky retained practically the entire ensemble of the characters of the Comedy, as well as the essence of the intrigue. And yet, after processing in the Comedy and there appeared a lot of new. The plot was much more dynamic.

 

So this seems to be normal, although a funny story about the mountain-the groom, who wanted to catch simultaneously two «hares» in the form of the bride, has acquired his own life and left in the world, becoming one of the most popular and favorite Ukrainian classical comedies.

Since then a lot of Directors worked on this blessed material, creating on the basis of their own production. Some of them were pretty good, some - not very. However, each setting has its own face...

Probably, this is the complexity for the Director to take all the well-known essay and make a play, which captivated the audience and thus would not be like no other, to the viewer even thought has arisen to compare its performance with something else (or with other ideas, then to a movie, then, even after the play).

However, it is quite an unexpected finale, who invented the Director in this statement, unwittingly prompts the thought that everything in this story is finished «happy end». And Проня Прокоповна it reaches its goal. And what is further? As told the Director Vyacheslav Stasenko during the press-conference for mass media: «This is another story»...

And as for music... not for the first time the theatre's orchestra in a performance of not only perform music, but is a separate full-fledged character. Music skillfully play in the play, as inveterate dramatic actors. However, in the production of such ideas abound. After all, ballet dancers here, singing and singers - become a dramatic actors.
