The monastery was established in 1650 on the riverside of Vorskla at the expense of commoners in memory of the first victories of hetman of the Zaporizhian Host Bohdan Mykhailovych Khmelnytsky over the Polacks near Zhovti Vody and Pyliavtsi in 1648 (nowadays the village Pyliava of Starosiniavsky District of Khmelnitsky Region).
The city of Poltava is favourably endowed with the samples of architecture and monuments. The majority of monuments are connected with the victory of Russian army over the Swedes. The main area of unique interest of Poltava and Central Square of the city is the Monument of Glory.

The museum was built in the year 2000 in the town of Kolomyia. The central part of the museum is made in the shape of huge painted Easter egg 14 metres in height.
